Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.



 Dr. Todd A. Stepp, Senior Pastor

Pastor Todd comes to us from . . . here!  He was born and raised in this area.  He graduated from Floyd Central High School in 1987.  Pastor Todd and his wife, Bobbie, are both graduates of Trevecca Nazarene University.  Bobbie’s major was Biology with a minor in Chemistry & Secondary Education.  She has also completed graduate work through Indiana Wesleyan University.  She currently teaches Science at Christian Academy of Indiana.
Pastor Todd holds a Master of Divinity degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree in Worship & Preaching from Asbury Theological Seminary.  Pastor Todd was ordained in 1996 and has served as a full-time pastor for over 20 years .  He has been appointed by the denomination’s General Secretary as a representative of the Church of the Nazarene on the World Methodist Council, where he serves on the Worship and Liturgy Committee.  He holds membership in a number of Religious and Academic groups and is President of the Wesleyan-Anglican Society. 
Additionally, Pastor Todd serves as an online Adjunct Professor of Worship for Wesley Seminary at Indiana Wesleyan University, and he has published a number of articles in such journals/magazines as “The Wesleyan Theological Journal,” “Sacramental Life,” “Holiness Today,” and elsewhere.  He has presented workshops and taught in the area of Worship (and also Evangelism) on the local, district, regional and general church levels.  Pastor Todd is especially passionate about authentic Christian worship as seen from a Wesleyan perspective.  He maintains a blog entitled Wesleyan/Anglican


Pastor Todd and Bobbie are the proud parents of two grown children: Sarah Hendrick (and her husband, Dakota), who are currently involved in the music ministry of the church, and Matt, who is pursuing a Music Ministries degree at Olivet Nazarene University.
Rev’d. Betty Beck, Pastor of Congregational Care
Pastor Betty is an ordained elder through the Church of the Nazarene (’03).  She first began serving on staff at Heartland as Children’s Pastor in May of 1996.  She continued in that role through 2010, when her role changed to Pastor of Congregational Care.  Additionally, Pastor Betty served as the District Children’s Director for the Southwest Indiana District Church of the Nazarene from 2000 – 2010. 
Pastor Betty has earned an Associates degree in Special Education and an ADN in Nursing, both from Vincennes University.  She is a Registered Nurse and has served at Washington Nursing Center, Washington, IN and at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany, IN.
In 2012, Pastor Betty received her Bachelor of Arts in Counseling for Christian Ministries from Nazarene Bible College, and in 2015, she completed her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Campbellsville University.
